The Best Weekend

I spent this weekend with two of my very dear friends. I met them on my Mommy Board and have known them for over year. Aisha is such a sweetie and the first time I met her I felt like I had known her for years. Kim and I have gotten closer now that she lives so close to me and not another state.

I spent the night with Kim so we could head out early. We had such a good time chatting the night away. We then loaded up the kids in her van, thank God for the in car DVD player. Holli was actually a little quiet until Kim's son wanted to watch Spiderman and then she woke and decided to chat away.

Kim and I drove to Houston for Aisha's daughter's 5th birthday party. After the party we went to Aisha house and chatted away and then Aisha made us Paula Deens' BBQ meatloaf and Mashed Potatos. That food was Slap yo Mama Good. We then spent the night and woke up the the most wonderful breakfast complete with Oprah's favorite preserves, Baby Norah was sitting at the table with us and yelling as we each buttered up our biscuits. I told Aisha, Norah is telling you she wants a biscuit. Aisha finally relented and gave her part of hers and Norah gave her the biggest smile and looking like - That's what I'm talking about.

The kiddos had such a great time playing together. Aisha said that the Diva should be in management but I think that was her nice way of say Holli is a tad bit bossy. She kept going Kid's after we eat dinner, we are going to play a game and then we are going to watch a movie etc

Aisha husband is the best. I he is so funny and they make such a terrific team.

We got home around 9pm and Holli and I were so tired. We immediatley crash. After sleeping with me for 2 nights in a row I heard little footsteps heading my way and getting into bed with me. Now I have to think of a new bribe to get her back into her bed, but it was so worth it to spend time with Kim and Aisha.

A visit from the Tooth Fairy

The Diva lost her first tooth last night. We were reading on the couch and she popped it out into her hand. She was so excited because she could not wait for a visit from the tooth fairy.

I had her rinse out her mouth and then we put the tooth in a paper towel. At first she wasn't having it because she did not think the tooth fairy would know to look in it. I assured her everything would be okay. Of course, I did not have any change in my purse to leave for the tooth fairy so I had to sneak into her room and take the coins out of her bank to put under her pillow. I have been advised that I should put the coins back, but since technically she took them out of my purse to begin wtith I think I am okay. Anyhoo, this morning I went to wake her up and the first thing she did was raise up the gazillion pillows she sleeps on and saw the paper towel under her pillow.

We carefully opened it up and voila she had 5 coins. She then told me we needed to go to the Star Store (WalMart) so she could ge a Bratz doll. I said maybe we should get stickers for now and save the dolls for Santa.

I can't believe my baby has lost her first tooth already

Should I Be Worried?? lol

Holli loves High School Musical. It is one of her favorite movies. She walks around singing all the songs and acting out the parts. Well yesterday she told me she was Sharpay because she was FABOULOUS and the proceeded to sing the song. Anyone that knows the High School Musical movies knows that this is not a good thing. lol

Right now we are getting ready for Halloween. Holli has her heart set on being Cinderella and she thinks we have not purchased her costume yet. (It's hidden in my closet) Yesterday in the car we were talking and she said Mommy do you promise I get to be Cinderella for Halloween." I told her Yes, I promise and then she said Yeah I get to be Cinderella. So again this let's me know that it is very important that I keep my word to her and do not make promises I cannot keep.

The Child Support Review went very well and things financially will begin to look up as long as her father does what he is suppose to do.

The Birthday Party

Holli's party was a blast. It was small and only close friends and family showed up. None of her classmates, I guess she is too new at the school. I will get to meet some of the parents at the Fall Carnival this month.

My co-worker made a beautiful Cinderella cake and it was a hit. Holli loved having her Cinderella cake

Holli's father called that morning and said he was not coming he got a last minute tournament to do, which is what I knew he was going to do. Holli does not expect him at any of her functions so she was not hurt and all she wanted to know was what time were we leaving for the party. She was so excited. She wore her Tinkerbell dress all day. I kept thinking I could have saved money on the birthday outfit no one saw. :)

My friend who just adores Holli came by and took her to Sweet and Sassy for her first manucre and pedicure at age 5. They painted tiara's on her toes and put glitter on her face

I forgot to take a picture of it earlier so her toes are kinda got messed up after the party.

Holli also got her cheerleading uniform. She could not wait to get it on so we took a few impromptu pictures

Her first competition is December 9. I think I am more excited than Holli, if that is even possible.

It's Friday!!

I love Friday! I live for the weekend and a little downtime. Holli and I will run by Wally World and get the frozen mini pizza and make those tonight for dinner. After dinner and kitchen clean up she will watch a 2 hour marathon of the Disney channel and I will retire to my bedroom and watch all the HGTV shows I taped this week. This morning she told me she had the best birthday ever. It's nice that McDonald's and a Barbie Island Princess DVD will do that for you when your 5.

Tomorrow is her birthday party. All of the regulars will be there. I am a little sad that none of her new classmates RSVP'ed that they were coming, but I am also glad - means that it's a lot cheaper for me. I hope no one decides to bring a kid that did not RSVP. I do not have any goodies for them. I only bought enough for those that said they were coming.

Holli's Dad is still being a Drama Queen (Now I know where Holli gets it from ) about coming to her birthday party. He sent some email to me about not wanting to be another face in the crowd at her party, but would be there if I wanted him to be. He prefers to just spend birthday time alone with his kids. Well this was news to me because the past 5 yrs he has never called, come by or even acknowledge her birthday. Anyway I told him he should do what he thought was best and left it at that.

Anyway, Holli's party is Disney Princess and Cinderella is the main feature. My family and friends are going to just die when they see Holli's cake. A co-workers is making her cake and I told her it's a Cinderella theme so make it princessy. Well my co-worker decided to go a step further and make a Cinderella cake. When I open the box and see blonde - blue eyed Cinderella staring back at us. Holli is going to give a leap of glee and my sister is going to ask me what happened. I had made a rule earlier that people were not allowed to buy my child any type of white doll and now I having Cinderella on a cake. I of course have bent that rule a little over the last couple of years and the Diva does have white dolls. She does know that when I buy her a doll I want it to look just like her because she is so beautiful, but I do not stop others from buying or giving. I have also bought the Strawberry Shortcake dolls, Dora and others for her.

So I am looking forward to her party and hopes Holli has a blast!

Happy Belated Birthday Diva

I spent Holli's 5th birthday at the Child Support office with her father on September 25. I thought it was ironic that we had to have the mediation on her birthday and seriously the caseworker came and got us at almost 1o minutes after 8 am. Holli was born at 8:10 am. Although all the ironies of the day are funny, we still did not get anything resolved and have to go back again on October 9, 2007. I want him to take responsibility for his daughter's health insurance and he wants to not. So nothing new there.

I picked Holli up from school and we headed to McDonald's to pick up dinner. (her choice) She then asked me when were we going to the store to pick up her Barbie Island Movie. I told her No, after we got dinner we were going to head home. I had the Barbie Movie, 2 tshirts and Hello Kitty Bandaids (she loves bandaids) waiting for her at home and I really wanted to surprise her.
Holli was sitting in her carseat saying, but Mommy you promised I was going to get my movie today. I really, really wanted everything to be a surprise at home so I asked her to just trust that Mommy would keep her word to her. She said okay and then thought about it and went again, but Mommy you said I was going to get it today. I just said I know sweetie and we will discuss it when we get home. I had the gift bag and everything setting out just so and I wanted to hear her little squeal when she walked in the front door so I could not let her know the movie was already there. She got really quiet in the backseat and was so sad. I just patted her on her leg again and told her to trust me. When she got home she saw her little surprise. She trew out the card, the band aids and the tshirts and jumped up and down when she saw the movie. She was saying Mommy you did get it, you did get it. So I had to trust you.

This lets me know that I have to be really careful about what I say to Holli and make sure that I don't make promises to her I am unable to keep.

A little glimps at my intermost thoughts...

OMG I am having the same arguement that I have every year with Holli's father at this time. You would think I would give up, but no I continue to do this over and over again.

Holli's birthday is on September 25 and again her father refuses to come to her birthday party or even celebrate her birthday. It's like he doesn't even want to acknowledge her birthday, though he claims he loves her. I am not surprised he is not coming. He was not at her birthday, her baptismal or her her 4 previous birthday celebrations. What pisses me off is that he will use the I have to work excuse, which we both know is a lie. He is going to referee at someone's else child's game. Also he spends every minute of his free time with his 14 yr old son. If he has an event he takes off to be with him. Last year on her birthday I called him and asked why has he not bothered to even call his daughter and wish her Happy Birthday. He said well I am about to go do something with Ryan so I will talk to her later. uggghhhh. This year we have a meeting to discuss the Child Support and sincehe is pissed at me he is going to ignore her again even though he is off from work.

Well it's his lost. He is the one actually misses out on being a part of a wonderful little girl's life.

What a morning?

I always have trouble with my patio door. It will not lock and it always takes me at least 3 tries to get it to close. Well this morning I go to get clothes out of the dryer (the washer/dryer is in a closet on the patio) and I close the door so the moths will not fly in. The damn door locks on me. I couldn't believe it. I try to get Holli to open it, but she doesn't know how. I didn't want her to know because I don't want her out there without me. So no luck and she begins to cry. I then stand on the patio in my duster and wait for one of my neighbors to walk by. (I live in an apartment) Finally a neighbor, who I don't know comes walking out and I yell to him, Hey I am locked out can you come in and open the door for me. I am sure he thought I was crazy. Holli managers to turn the locks and he comes in. The living room of course is a mess, I am a flybaby drop out, but he opens the door and viola I am in.

Holli was a little clingy afterwards. I think she was pretty upset I was locked on the balcony AND the fact she could not have Oreos for breakfast.

Anyone know an Alligator exterminator

It seems I have an alligator hiding in my house.

This morning Holli woke up and told me she had a scratch on her leg. I looked for the scratch, couldn't see it, but ask her how she got it anyway.

Holli - The alligator bit me
Me- an Alligator bit you, when?
Holli - Last night when I was dreaming
Me - oh okay (not wanting to laugh because she was serious)
Holli - Well I am going to have to put a Strawberry Shortcake Band-Aid on my leg

So I am sure everyone at prek today is really impressed by the Band-Aid and I probably need to put the laundry away on the couch just in case the alligator is hiding there. lol

My first public blog - Thanks Liz

So I am on my Mommy board and we are discussing blogs. I have a weight loss blog that is very private, but nothing public. Then it hits me, I am looking for a way to keep my thoughts and memories about raising my AMAZING little girl nicknamed The Diva and this would be perfect, as long as the internet never disappears. lol

Since I am truly a private person, (Some might disagree since I have an outgoing, glad to meet you personality) I will most likely not be posting my intermost private thoughts. My Dad says I am one of the most secretive person's he has ever met. I usually only let people know the surface nothing deeper, but if you enjoy reading about the antics of a little girl who thinks the worlds is hers.
