bits of my weekend

My weekend began on Thursday this year. Woo Hoo no work and putting up with all the irritants and best of all since I wasn't hosting, I made a couple of pies and sides and called it a day.

Spent Thanksgiving with my sisters, Mom and Aunt plus the kidlets.

We stayed until midnight and the baby ending up spending the night.

Since I am never in a hurry to be around a mob of people, I waited to Friday afternoon to score a great deal on boots for the kiddo. She had ruined her boots from Back to School, but we will revisit not taking care of your crap on another post.

Saturday I declared it do what Mom wants to do day. I went to At Home (former Garden Ridge) and window shopped, saw Left Behind at the Dollar Movies, if you have never read the books, it will be enjoyable. If you read the book, it is absolutely nothing like the book. You have been warned.
I then fed into my craving of going to Chipotle. I loved not asking the kid what she wanted to do. I plan to do this more often

Sunday was church and an ornament exchange with a friend.

All and all a terrific weekend.

How was yours?

bits of my weekend

Had a fun filled weekend.

Saturday started out with the me enjoying the rain and sleeping in. The Diva had a sleep over so she made sure that she had all of her chores taken care EARLY. She did not want to have any problems when it was time to go

I decided to join my friend at her church on Saturday evening.  She attends Serenity Church Wonderful service and message.

Sunday consisted of picking up the Diva from her sleeping over. Mall shopping for winter clothes for The Diva, window shopping at Hot Topic by The Diva and replacing her cell phone that she gave away at the school.

The highlight of my day was watching Part 3 of the Hunger Games series. I had been waiting for months and the movie did not disappoint!
Now gearing up for Thanksgiving week. Best news is that I am not hosting so I am taking a couple of sides and calling it a day.

How was your weekend?

bits of my weekend

bits of my weekend is a day late, well because of the weekend

The Diva had her 1st School Musical this weekend. She was the Sour Kangaroo in Seussical Jr.

She was absolutely wonderful. Yes, I am Mom and totally biased but she did a great job!

We also had overnight guests. Paw Paw and Pooka stayed with us, which was great. I may have messed up by cooking breakfast because they are talking about coming back. lol

All in all it was a tiring and wonderful weekend. I hope to have videos of the Diva's performance up this weekend.

bits of my weekend

This weekend was all about fun, fun fun

Started off with going to Salute to American Heroes which is a little small town carnival. Lots of rides that cost an arm and a leg and carnie food. We lucked out and scored VIP passes so the food and drinks were FREE!!!! Bought ride tickets for the kid and me to share. She ran into school friends, took the tickets and dumped me. Oh well life with a 12 yr old. I found some Mom and enjoyed some nice adult conversation. Jo Dee Messina performed and a really nice firework show. We ended the night singing "Proud to Be An American" (music provided by the Fireworks show) as we walked to the car.

Sunday we went to church and then went to our High School's production The Addam's Family. It was good. I wish I could have been able to express my self through theater in High School

The upcoming "bits of my weekend" is going to be AWESOME with lots and lots of pictures.
Stay tuned...

bits of my weekend

Busy, busy busy weekend

Started off with The Diva attending her first school dance, a MASK querade dance for 6ht graders. No pictures because she also lost her phone....which I did not find out about until late Saturday night. This kid is going to do cause me extra gray hair this year and I already have plenty.

We then spent 6 glorious house up at the school working on the set build for the upcoming musical. Thankfully some Dad's (3) showed up. We had a model builder and a engineer. Everything was built that day. Sure it's a load off of the Drama teacher's shoulders. Musical starts in 2 weeks. The Drama teacher also told me that Miss Thang was bringing it. She also told me that the Choir teacher wanted her for Varsity Choir. The Choir teacher told her she could have the Diva for now but she planned on fighting for her later on.

Sunday was church fun and laundry, laundry, laundry

Looking forward to the upcoming week

Thursday's Random Thoughts

Actually, Thursday is one of my favorite TV nights  - Big Bang - "moving back",  Scandal and How To Get Away with Murder. Unfortunately it  also seems to be the favorite day for my kid's  middle school to plan events. Math night, Choir Programs, Meet the Teacher and what not. I am not ashamed to admit that some days I want to say nope, can't make it, it's my tv night. I so want to be that parent, but I know these are the years that I must show up. I have to let her know that these  school years are when it begins to get  serious. These years are shaping your future.

bits of my weekend

Should I or shouldn't I? After hemming and hawing for 2 weeks I finally decided to do a last minute  garage sale to get the stuff I had put aside to sale out of my living room. Just to make sure I followed thru, I invited my sisters and a friend to participate. It wasn't too bad. I made $40, friend made $50 and one of my sisters made $90. She had lots of kid clothes. The nosy neighbor watched us set up and said she had some stuff and I could sell it and didn't have to give her any money. It was all crap. I finally had to tell her to stop bringing stuff out.  She is lucky my parents taught me to be nice to my elders. I ended up putting her boxes on the curb with a sign that said free. Luckily, I blinked my eyes and viola the crap was gone.

Now one would think that money would go into saving for the Disney Cruise we are planning again for 2016, but no went to On The Border, bought the kid a new outfit and a book. lol

It was still good to make some extra spending money and enjoy the morning with one of my sisters and a friend

I Did it! Disney Cruise 2014 Part 1

My very long over due post. After a year of hoping, praying, and stressing. I was able to pull of the vacation of a lifetime. The Diva and I spent a wonderful week on the Disney Wonder. It was a wonderful experience because she also flew on a plane for the first time. We got lucky, something happened to our plane and we were upgraded to the big boy. I think it was a 747, 3 rows across, tv/videos in the back of the headrest, so very, very comfortable.

We arrived in Miami the night before and went to our very, cheap hotel...never again, but it was close to the port and the staff was nice. Next morning we boarded our shuttle and off to the port. The Disney Wonder.
After about a 20 minute wait we boarded our ship and the 1st thing they did was feed us. You will not go hungry on a cruise.

My kid and her amazing fearless personality. The 2nd day on the cruise, she basically ate breakfast with me and then dumped me. The Disney Cruise of course had so many wonderful things that kids could do that I was slowing her down. We never ate lunch together after the first day. We ate breakfast, she did her thing and then we would meet in the evening for a show and dinner. She became friends with one of the little girls that sat at our table so she had a hang out partner. I was left to find my own adventures, which was not hard on a cruise.

We did an the Dolphin Island Adventure

So much fun. We also got to hold baby sea turtles
