It's Friday!!

I love Friday! I live for the weekend and a little downtime. Holli and I will run by Wally World and get the frozen mini pizza and make those tonight for dinner. After dinner and kitchen clean up she will watch a 2 hour marathon of the Disney channel and I will retire to my bedroom and watch all the HGTV shows I taped this week. This morning she told me she had the best birthday ever. It's nice that McDonald's and a Barbie Island Princess DVD will do that for you when your 5.

Tomorrow is her birthday party. All of the regulars will be there. I am a little sad that none of her new classmates RSVP'ed that they were coming, but I am also glad - means that it's a lot cheaper for me. I hope no one decides to bring a kid that did not RSVP. I do not have any goodies for them. I only bought enough for those that said they were coming.


Holli's Dad is still being a Drama Queen (Now I know where Holli gets it from ) about coming to her birthday party. He sent some email to me about not wanting to be another face in the crowd at her party, but would be there if I wanted him to be. He prefers to just spend birthday time alone with his kids. Well this was news to me because the past 5 yrs he has never called, come by or even acknowledge her birthday. Anyway I told him he should do what he thought was best and left it at that.

Anyway, Holli's party is Disney Princess and Cinderella is the main feature. My family and friends are going to just die when they see Holli's cake. A co-workers is making her cake and I told her it's a Cinderella theme so make it princessy. Well my co-worker decided to go a step further and make a Cinderella cake. When I open the box and see blonde - blue eyed Cinderella staring back at us. Holli is going to give a leap of glee and my sister is going to ask me what happened. I had made a rule earlier that people were not allowed to buy my child any type of white doll and now I having Cinderella on a cake. I of course have bent that rule a little over the last couple of years and the Diva does have white dolls. She does know that when I buy her a doll I want it to look just like her because she is so beautiful, but I do not stop others from buying or giving. I have also bought the Strawberry Shortcake dolls, Dora and others for her.

So I am looking forward to her party and hopes Holli has a blast!

Happy Belated Birthday Diva

I spent Holli's 5th birthday at the Child Support office with her father on September 25. I thought it was ironic that we had to have the mediation on her birthday and seriously the caseworker came and got us at almost 1o minutes after 8 am. Holli was born at 8:10 am. Although all the ironies of the day are funny, we still did not get anything resolved and have to go back again on October 9, 2007. I want him to take responsibility for his daughter's health insurance and he wants to not. So nothing new there.

I picked Holli up from school and we headed to McDonald's to pick up dinner. (her choice) She then asked me when were we going to the store to pick up her Barbie Island Movie. I told her No, after we got dinner we were going to head home. I had the Barbie Movie, 2 tshirts and Hello Kitty Bandaids (she loves bandaids) waiting for her at home and I really wanted to surprise her.
Holli was sitting in her carseat saying, but Mommy you promised I was going to get my movie today. I really, really wanted everything to be a surprise at home so I asked her to just trust that Mommy would keep her word to her. She said okay and then thought about it and went again, but Mommy you said I was going to get it today. I just said I know sweetie and we will discuss it when we get home. I had the gift bag and everything setting out just so and I wanted to hear her little squeal when she walked in the front door so I could not let her know the movie was already there. She got really quiet in the backseat and was so sad. I just patted her on her leg again and told her to trust me. When she got home she saw her little surprise. She trew out the card, the band aids and the tshirts and jumped up and down when she saw the movie. She was saying Mommy you did get it, you did get it. So I had to trust you.

This lets me know that I have to be really careful about what I say to Holli and make sure that I don't make promises to her I am unable to keep.

A little glimps at my intermost thoughts...

OMG I am having the same arguement that I have every year with Holli's father at this time. You would think I would give up, but no I continue to do this over and over again.

Holli's birthday is on September 25 and again her father refuses to come to her birthday party or even celebrate her birthday. It's like he doesn't even want to acknowledge her birthday, though he claims he loves her. I am not surprised he is not coming. He was not at her birthday, her baptismal or her her 4 previous birthday celebrations. What pisses me off is that he will use the I have to work excuse, which we both know is a lie. He is going to referee at someone's else child's game. Also he spends every minute of his free time with his 14 yr old son. If he has an event he takes off to be with him. Last year on her birthday I called him and asked why has he not bothered to even call his daughter and wish her Happy Birthday. He said well I am about to go do something with Ryan so I will talk to her later. uggghhhh. This year we have a meeting to discuss the Child Support and sincehe is pissed at me he is going to ignore her again even though he is off from work.

Well it's his lost. He is the one actually misses out on being a part of a wonderful little girl's life.
